Long Road Distillers recently partnered up with local Grand Rapids breweries to craft a beer and whisky mash-up release.
The whisky created in this series has it’s base in some of the most popular beers made by these four breweries. Beer and whisky share the same base ingredient, malted barley, so Long Road got brewers mash from each brewery, and then distilled it into malt whisky, which then was aged in new American Oak barrels for 12-24 months.
On June 20, they released a Perrin Black Malt Whisky at the distillery crafted with the mash from Perrin Black Ale.
