Blonde Porter

ABV % | IBU

We wanted to deconstruct the flavor profile of a porter and recreate those flavors without using the traditional roasted malts to create a light blonde colored, full flavored beer. We used oats and wheat to build a full creamy body aged with coffee and chocolate for a rich roasted aroma and robust finish.

Perrin Brewing Company is thrilled to announce that this year’s Ice Jam raised $20,000 for Kids’ Food Basket. The fourth annual event took place at the Perrin Pub on Jan. 25 and featured local Michigan live music, along with the Frostbite 5K event, which was attended by 635 runners and walkers. Kids’ Food Basket is a nonprofit organization that provides children living at or near the poverty level with nourishing evening meals, so they can have the nourishment they need to be successful at school and in life. A check will be presented to Kids’ Food Basket on Wednesday, Feb. 5.

Every person who registered for the race or bought a concert ticket contributed directly to the dollar amount raised for Kids’ Food Basket. Event guests also donated 765 pounds of food items like toasted oat cereal, fruit cups, dried fruit, cheese crackers, pretzels and snack-size bags. All food donations will be used in the Kids’ Food Basket’s Sack Supper program. A Sack Supper is a free, well-balanced evening meal full of nutritious food delivered to children so that they can perform their best. Sack Suppers are distributed in classrooms at the end of each school day and during summer programs, so every child in need can receive one easily and safely.

It is because of partnerships like Perrin Brewing Kids’ Food Basket is able to help thousands of children thrive by meeting a simple but critical need – the nourishment of an evening meal made with love. By equipping children and families with greater access to fresh, locally grown food can help us build a more vibrant and healthy West Michigan.

– Bridget Clark Whitney, Founding CEO
