On May 20, Perrin Brewing Company invites the public to enjoy a day of bikes and beers to benefit kids in the Grand Rapids Community.
Perrin has partnered with Can’d Aid, West Michigan Mountain Bike Alliance (WMMBA) and Central District Cyclery to bring professional downhill trails rider Jeff Lenosky to Wahlfield Park in Comstock Park. Jeff will host a Tips & Tricks performance from 5-7pm on Monday, May 20, and Central District’s demo fleet of about 12 bikes will be available to check out.
Afterward, from 7-9pm, head down the road from Wahlfield Park to The Perrin Pub for bike building and beers. Can’d Aid will donate 66 bikes to build for the entire first grade class of Cesar E. Chavez Elementary, plus helmets. Anyone is welcome to join, pitch in and help get kids on a new bike. No experience necessary – tools will be provided.
On Tuesday, May 21 from 1-2pm, the bikes will be presented to first graders at Cesar E. Chavez Elementary – the ultimate feel-good experience for both kids and volunteers!
So bring yourself, your bike and a few friends to Wahlfield Park on May 20th at 5pm to:
-
Say hi to Jeff “Trail Boss” Lenosky and maybe learn a thing or two.
-
Dig the New NORCO, KONA, IBIS or YETI bikes from Central District and see which one you can’t live without.
-
Get filled in on local Mountain Bike happenings by the WMMBA and get yourself a membership.
-
Build bikes for kids with the help of Perrin Brewing and Can’d Aid.
