Longmont, Colorado’s Oskar Blues Brewery has acquired Comstock Park, Michigan-based Perrin Brewing Company. Last year, the two breweries collaborated on a craft lager offering that marked the formation of a partnership that is expected to help both breweries strengthen their position amid increasing competition. Former West Side Beer Distributing owner and Michigan native Keith Klopcic, who helped to orchestrate the deal, will be a partner and act as president of Perrin Brewing moving ahead. Oskar Blues recently opened a second brewery in Brevard, North Carolina that allowed the brewery to increase production to nearly 150,000 barrels in 2014 while reaching 42 states earlier this year. Perrin taps are in more than 700 locations in Michigan and in 2014 the brewery reached nearly 14,000 barrels with draft-only offerings.
